Charoses
Apples, honey, walnuts, and wine – makes one’s mouth water and the soul stir. Charoses represents the mortar the Jews used to lay bricks for the cruel Egyptian taskmasters. Every year at Pesach (Passover) time, Jews around the world sit around the Seder table to remember and experience the taste of enslavement and freedom through the telling of the story (the Haggadah) and partaking of the powerful ingredients of symbolic foods.
