Young and old, rich and poor, observant and non-observant, they embraced all with warmth, encouragement, and blessing. The renown Rosh Yeshiva of the Ponovitch Yeshiva in Bnai Brak was legendary for his dedication to the study of Torah. Among the greatest of the great teachers and scholars of the past generation, he impacted thousands of students with his brilliant intellect and the fiery, fervor, and devotion for serving G-d and caring for His beloved children. Memorialized by the artist, this oil painting presents Rav Shach at his weekly lecture in the main study hall of Ponovitch. Depicted is the golden Aron Hakodesh (Ark) that makes this rendering iconic to the many who were his students and the countless others that sought his wisdom and council.
